Project title | Effect of partially hydrolyzed guar gum on gut microbiota in a rat model of short bowel syndrome. |
---|---|
Project Description | Massive bowel resection is a major cause of short bowel syndrome (SBS). SBS is the most common cause of intestinal failure (IF) in infants and children. IF is defined as an inability to maintain adequate enteral nutrition due to the loss of extensive part of small intestine. In this study, we examined the effect of partially hydrolyzed guar gum on gut microbiota in an SBS rat model by illumina-based 16S rDNA sequencing analysis. |
