We report the effect of sulfur fertilization to the bacterial communities associated with rice roots and resided in the surface oxidized layer in planted rice microcosm.

Bacterial community in rice rhizosphere: Rice plants were cultivated in pots with non-fertilized, CaCO3 or CaSO4 fertilization. Bacterial DNA were extracted from rice roots and soil, and then subjected to PCR amplification of 16S rRNA gene.
